I’ve been so excited about new beauty launches and accessories lately. Every time I vow to go on a “no-buy” there is always a collection that manages to break me down. Here is what is currently tempting me:
1. Make Up For Ever added another item to the bevy of contouring products hitting the market with their Pro Sculpting Duos. I already picked up Pink Beige, which is perfect for giving me a subtle glow while I’m really pale. Golden is on my wish list for when I get a little more tan this summer. The golden highlight is a pretty close dupe for the infamous MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Whisper of Gilt if you missed out on it.
2. I’ve been hearing mixed reviews about the NARS Dual-Intensity Blush but they look so good that I still want to try one (I wonder if this is showing up anywhere else in my life lol). I think I will start with Fervor, which has been on my radar for weeks.
3. It doesn’t seem like my obsession with BaubleBar is going away any time soon. I’m in the middle of making over my wardrobe (and life — more on that later) so new accessories are wholly justified. I’m on a gold kick and have been looking to add some more studs and bracelets to my stash.
4. I need to refresh my nail polish stash with some spring/summer colors and the new OPI Hawaii Collection has the required nude, pink and mint shades I can’t live without.
My latest haul features enough contour products to make me unrecognizable; the goal of any respectable beauty routine. Just kidding! Lol. But seriously, it seems like everyday a different beauty company launches a new product to capitalize on the contouring trend. It’s always leopard print season in my wardrobe. I wonder if it has anything to do with being a Leo? lol. I have been looking for accessories, which are a little more long lasting and durable than a top (I just had to toss my favorite leopard print sweater that I wore into the ground) in the print to introduce into my rotation.
If you are new to animal print, a clutch or a pair of shoes is a great way to tiptoe into the space without being over the top. I’m picky about my prints so I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of leopard print shoes for a while and I think I may have found the ideal pair at Steve Madden. I did a little more window shopping and threw in some other picks in the slideshow above, including a Clare V. clutch that I haven’t been able to get out of my head. I swear I need a second job just for my accessories obsession lol.
I recently picked up this dress at French Connection. It is appropriate for the office while still having some edginess and enough sex appeal for happy hour with friends or a date night after clocking out for the day. The sales associate at the boutique said the dress reminded him of something Rihanna would wear because of the graphic print (as if I needed another reason to pick it up); I already live for RiRi’s style especially during the Rated R era.
P.S. the box clutch is totally lost on the male species. They don’t get it lol.
